Both Samsung and Electrolux produce good-looking modern washers with many innovative features.

Samsung washers come with up to 14 dedicated wash cycles and 12 wash options. These include PowerFoam, which penetrates deep into fabrics and gets better results on stubborn soils. LuxCare and SmartCare are the names of Electrolux’s innovative wash systems. They have carefully programmed tumble rotations, and precise temperature controls to protect fabrics. SmartBoost pre-mixes water and detergent – and can also mix fabric softener and bleach – for deeper cleaning. Electrolux also has a steam option, Perfect Steam, which targets tough stains.

Note: according to manufacturers, machines that feature steam tend to consume less water and energy than conventional models.

In our busy lives, it's helpful to have to have the ability to shorten the amount of time it takes to do laundry. Catering to this need, Electrolux offers models that clean your clothes in just 15 minutes.

Drying Performance

Washers are not the only ones gaining innovative features – manufacturers are also boosting the capabilities of dryers to cover all your needs.

One of the most common new features is Sensor Dry, which adjusts the dry time according to how wet your clothes are, preventing over-drying, protecting fabrics, and saving energy. Both Samsung and Electrolux come equipped with this feature.

Another common feature for both brands is Steam, which gently dries and removes wrinkles from clothes for easier ironing. It's also highly useful for eliminating bacteria and odor.

2) Energy Efficiency

These days, efficiency is a crucial concern, and many designs share a similar goal: save energy. Most brands, including Samsung and Electrolux, are determined to use less, protect the environment, and keep money in your pocket.

Products with the Energy Star label meet the government’s energy efficiency regulations and use less water and electricity. Almost all front load washers have this label, and more and more driers are achieving this mark as well.

Electrolux prevents unnecessary water usage with an Automatic Water-level Adjustment System that adapts according to the amount of laundry. Also, Electrolux has an Electronic Temperature Adjustment System that keeps the heat stable, preventing overheating and decreasing the amount of electricity needed.

Samsung also produces washers and dryers with the Energy Star label. Besides using less water and electricity, Samsung’s SuperSpeed Cycle is one of the best on the market for quick, 36-minute washes.

3) Noise and Vibration

An essential concern, especially for those living in smaller apartments, is noise and vibration. You might imagine that machines loaded with laundry, spinning at 1300 RPM could be loud; however, both Samsung and Electrolux have made significant strides in developing new technology to ensure quiet, stable machines.

Both Samsung and Electrolux have excellent anti-vibration systems. Samsung models with VRT Plus technology cut vibration by 40% compared to their regular washers. This technology utilizes a unique tub design and individual sensors to balance loads and keep washers as silent as possible.

Helpful Tip: Compact dryers are almost always ventless and 240V electric.

Full-size washers have a 27-inch width and a 4.3 cu. ft. to 5.5 cu. ft. capacity, depending on height and depth, and most washers fall into this category. However, if you need something bigger, there are also mega-sized washers that have a 29-inch to 30-inch width and up to 6.0 cu. ft. capacity. Both Samsung and Electrolux have full-size washers, and but only Samsung produces mega-size.

Electrolux washers have a pedestal option for additional storage, and both Electrolux washers and dryers have reversible door options.
